Media

Welcome to my new blog where I'll be engaging in different forms of media mostly by posting videos I am making for a class. I hope you enjoy my amateur videos and feel free to leave comments on what you think about topics, how the video was done and any improvements I could make in the future.

Gingerbread Men

The holiday season brings families together and what a better way to spend time with your family then by making gingerbread men! Over the Thanksgiving weekend I gathered with family to decorate gingerbread men and we had a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy watching us decorate the cookies and have fun listening to the little kids tell their stories about what they made with their cookies. Happy Holidays!

Make Jewerly at Wendy's Beads

Wendy’s Beads is a small in-home business located in Rexburg, Idaho. Wendy is a wife and mother and started making jewelry with the help of friends. Wendy started out doing craft fairs making more of the paper crafts until she and her friends saw the need for more jewelry crafts.

Wendy started out small in her garage but has since moved to a larger garage where there is more space for shelves of beads and places to sit for her customers that come in. The business started with making watchbands and evolved into necklaces, earrings, and more. Wendy even sells purses, scarves, and flip-flops in her shop.

At first Wendy’s husband was unsure why his garage was turning into a craft place but even he was joined in with the fun. Wendy’s husband helps at the store by making jewelry to sell. Wendy said that some of her regular customers prefer that Wendy’s husband make the jewelry they order.

Even Wendy’s children join in by knowing how to make the jewelry and helping customers who come in know where things are in the shop.

The business has grown so much that Wendy doesn’t go to as many craft fairs as she use too. Because there is so much to take with her Wendy will only go to the big craft fairs around town or to a Super Saturday event.

Some of Wendy’s original customers and even her friends are now apart of the business. They help in the shop, at craft fairs, and make premade jewelry to sell.

Wendy’s Beads is a place where people can come and buy premade jewelry or get help from Wendy to make their very own creations.

Behind the Scenes:

I met Wendy through my husband’s IBC group for BYU-Idaho. My husband was making jewelry before I was at Wendy’s. After I went with my husband and had fun making jewelry I took my sister for her birthday and she was able to make a pair of earrings cheaper than I would be able to buy her some.

Apple Pie Cupcakes

Welcome to the first of many food blogs I will create. This week I am making apple pie cupcakes. Brian had the great idea that instead of making a big apple pie we make individual apple pies using a cupcake dish. I hope you enjoy and can make your own apple pie cupcakes to enjoy this holiday season.
